Puppet Theatre Sampo is involved in Helsinki City project Culture Kids as one of six theaters from Helsinki. In 2021, we welcome all new babies from Helsinki with their families to our theater! Culture kids can attend two theater events for free every year until they go to school. We can’t wait!
In 2023 our Culture Kids performance is Da Da Sur!
Culture kids will receive an invitation from neuvola and can register through the Culture kids project website!
Every child born in 2020 or after and living in Helsinki is sponsored by a cultural operator. The operator will offer the child and their family personal experiences with arts and culture. The sponsor will invite the child to at least two cultural events a year. The sponsor is determined by the year of birth of the child. The sponsors of children born in Helsinki in 2021 are the theatres of Helsinki.
The events are peaceful and atmospheric artistic moments for children and the adults close to them. They are designed with the child’s age in mind, and they are suitable for all families, regardless of their language skills or cultural background. The events are free of charge, and they are held in different parts of Helsinki. The sponsorship will continue until the child starts school.
Children living in Helsinki and born on 2020 or after can be registered as Culture Kids at the address www.kummilapset.hel.fi. Each child’s birth year determines the cultural sponsor, but children can be registered for the programme later on, too, up until school age. The Culture Kids service is administered by the City of Helsinki Culture and Leisure Division.
The sponsors of children born in Helsinki in 2021 are:
Finnish National Theatre, Helsinki City Theatre, Puppet Theatre Sampo, Svenska Teatern (Swedish Theatre), Theatre ILMI Ö. and Q-teatteri.
The Culture Kids service is administered by the City of Helsinki Culture and Leisure Division, and it is supported by the Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation.
